Is FO3 worth it?

I may buy it but am undecided.

Well, for a while ive considered getting Fallout 3, it looks like a pretty good game, but also looks repetitive and seems as though it would get boring after just a few days. For those of you who have bought it, tell me what its like, or if its worth it.

Thanks guys! Please be honest, i dont want to spend 50$ on a game I stop playing within a week!

Cheers

Posted by YellowJello I got the game, played it for about four hours, and uninstalled it. RPG games don't all have long stretches of boring dead lands and nothing to kill but rabid dogs. That's not fun, that's boring. Last I heard, if something is boring, it's not entertaining. If a game isn't entertaining, then it isn't good. If you are entertained by such things, then there is something wrong with you.
Everyone I know IRL loves the game. I've beaten it twice and my brothers finished every achievement and side mission. Both times I played it through I rarely found rabid dogs. You obviously just aren't doing it right. Or maybe the game REALLY just isn't for you. Don't base your purchase of others opinions. If you liked the elder scrolls series I'm sure you'll enjoy this game, or If you've ever played one of the fallout games in the series.

I always run into wild dogs in my game, but less often then I run into Yao Guai. But I have the perk that makes animals help me when I'm in a fight near them. And I can walk by them without getting attacked.

    I want it painted black

I picked it up, played it, and fell in love. I think the game is excellent. Has it's share of issues and boring parts, but overall i think the atmosphere in the game is really cool, tons of shit to do. My roommate and a good friend both picked the game up and loved it.

But i agree with the people who said rent it first. I didn't rent it, but i'm satisfied none the less.

the game had me sold when i went to upgrade my level, and an option for upgrade was this perk that made it so guys randomly explode when i kill them. I could hit them with brass knuckles and they'd explode as if i hit them with a nuke. My overall damage went up with this upgrade but the selling point was the pointless and awesome gore.
