Is FO3 worth it?

I may buy it but am undecided.

Well, for a while ive considered getting Fallout 3, it looks like a pretty good game, but also looks repetitive and seems as though it would get boring after just a few days. For those of you who have bought it, tell me what its like, or if its worth it.

Thanks guys! Please be honest, i dont want to spend 50$ on a game I stop playing within a week!

Cheers

No. The cities are boring, and between them is nothing but long stretches of dead trees and rabid dogs. The way you talk to people is exactly the same as Oblivion, unrealistic and stupid. Time freezes around you and they have no emotion at all.

Waste of money, don't get it.

Don't think FPS think Rpg, that's a common mistake made when viewing trailers. If you like oblivion or morrowwind at all, this is a masterpiece, if you haven't played either, I'd rent it and see if it was your style of game.

This game gets a lot of mixed reactions, and if I were you, I wouldn't base it off the opinions of others.

    To split opinions.

    Both seem very confident. :/

I got the game, played it for about four hours, and uninstalled it. RPG games don't all have long stretches of boring dead lands and nothing to kill but rabid dogs. That's not fun, that's boring. Last I heard, if something is boring, it's not entertaining. If a game isn't entertaining, then it isn't good. If you are entertained by such things, then there is something wrong with you.

Everyone I know IRL loves the game. I've beaten it twice and my brothers finished every achievement and side mission. Both times I played it through I rarely found rabid dogs. You obviously just aren't doing it right. Or maybe the game REALLY just isn't for you.

Don't base your purchase of others opinions. If you liked the elder scrolls series I'm sure you'll enjoy this game, or If you've ever played one of the fallout games in the series.

What's fun for one person sucks for another.

Also there's not just rabid dogs, there's plenty of thing to kill, so long as you progress properly. It needs to be played the right way, which was my mistake with oblivion which I HATED for awhile.

Probably just not your game, but I'm not seeing how I game, that plenty of people, including myself, enjoy, is not good.

There's plenty of people who HATE counter strike, halo, AND call of duty 4 (somewhat bad examples, I don't really feel like thinking of a good one though) then again a lot of people LOVE those same games.

It's a matter of whether or not you like the gameplay

I am NOT saying to go out and buy this, I think you should try it, you may HATE this game. I'm not going to tell you to buy this, if you don't I'm not going to say "You're missing out"

What I WILL say is I personally had fun with it. You should borrow it/rent it, and see if it's your type of game.

Looks like YellowJellow was expecting an FPS. Fallout 3 is not an FPS, it doesn't try to be either. Basically if you enjoyed Oblivion (I did, alot) you'll love Fallout 3 even more. It's full of improvements over Oblivion and the new game setting is great, along with the atmosphere. Especially the atmosphere, I find it really immersive.
