By littlepans 2 days agoI have two skin files that i want to use for CSS. The problem is that they are Team Fortress files. GCFscape does not recognize the files, and im not sure why. The file extension is .vtf.

By littlepans 2 days agoI have two skin files that i want to use for CSS. The problem is that they are Team Fortress files. GCFscape does not recognize the files, and im not sure why. The file extension is .vtf.
If you downloaded them off here,then ask the creator to change names it happens when a skin has the same name as the other on this website,and you download the for example: TF2/skins/scout/materials
CS:S/skins/guerilla/material
you will download the TF2 skin!!
VTF files have as much to do with Team Fortress 2 as they do with Counter-Strike: Source; it stands for 'Valve Texture Format' and GCFScape won't recognize it because it's an image, not an archive.
The real issue you're going to run into sooner or later is that textures for one game are not likely to work for another.
What I want to do is use this skin to replace the skin for my knife. The problem is that I do not know where to begin. I tried the tutorial on this site to try and decompile, but as you can see, it got me no where.
