i hit 20 fps looking at the fog with my hd4870. :<
40 looking down jumping from pillar to pillar

also for v2 you should make the nobuild zone much larger and extend it higher. one can box the flag the way it is.

While I see your point, I don't think it really makes a difference.

By the time you've reached combat, if you can cap without jumping, you might as well leave the server because you're playing with idiots.

okay so far i've change the skybox as suggested by one of my friends so now it looks like ur in space just above a planet's atmosphere, i made the pillars bigger and connected some of them, i made the pillar the flag is on bigger, and i lowered the skybox so u can't build huge bridges.

and from what i hear from u guys i should add these things: bigger nofreeze zone around flag, maybe connect flag platform to main platform?, and for that one guy i need to somehow make the dustcloud less laggy. am i rite?

well i think i can do all that, but if i make that cloud any less dense u can see the bottom of the pillars and then it doesnt look like they extend forever. maybe i could make the skybox deeper and extend the pillars and then make the clouds less dense.

Decent? That's only a couple steps from top of the line. Mine's "only" an 8800gts and I get 100+fps on skywalk.

If his figures are right, then yeah. I'm no mapper, so I can't say what might need fixing, but 20 fps with that card isn't right. Most modern games shouldn't even go that low, let alone a source game.

What kind of framerates are you getting? i mean, are yours about the same as they are for other maps?
(cl_showfps 1, by the way)

3d skybox, cloud texture. Pillars go "through" it. Done.
