I am obsessed with normal maps, so I did this. For me, the standard one looked very flat, so I made a new normal map. I also made a brighten and more saturated block color, and a golden edge with an improved normal map (Oh noes! another normal map!)

I saw that yesterday... The new block has 3 or 4 different pair of textures (not counting normal maps); a no-damaged one, a bit damaged one and almost broken one. Funny, but I don't know why did they changed the UV mapping to support edges. Now, block textures have "black parts" (unused texture zone), so that means less optimized texture space and less FPS. That was a step back to the v1.3 ~ v1.4
I've stopped making skins for this mod. I was doing a normal mapped version of this, but I don't want to waste my time on the newer version. Yes, there's some bug fixes, but I don't like the other "improvements" (removing the 2x1 aka flagdrop to put an unuseful 2x2 square alongside those new block textures.)
So your saying custom blocks won't work with 1.9.3? That sucks...
Too bad, the new version (1.9.3) doesn't support this anymore. They mixed the logo texture with the edges, so now is more difficult to do the golden edges. And for what? For adding a 2x2 2d block. There's a bigger 2x3, who wants a lower size block?? Oh, I know, block wasters.
I don't know if Im going to do this again for the new blocks.
