GPU?

one thing too, with a stock cooler you can overclock your cpu at 3.2-3.3Ghz
with a better cooler you can go up to 4.0Ghz without being unstable

if you need proof look at this:
I have a Zalman CNPS9900 LED cooler (cheaper than yours). my system is still running at that clock speed for 9days now.

GPU will be bought when the first dx11 cards surface.

I selected a scythe mugen for the purpose of overclocking, seeing your results makes me very hopeful

ok,i it's so easy to oc it, I just changed one value in the bios and that's it.
it's called the BCLK Frequency, the max depends on the mobo, it's between 180 and 205 Mhz (i'm at 180Mhz atm but i was at 195Mhz to get 4.1Ghz )

ATI sucks with windows 7 so far with the little I've been exposed to it, I'd highly recommend keeping to NVIDIA when you get to that point. I'd also not fret about having DX11, few things really fully utilize DX10 even now.

True but then again I'm hoping the other prices will drop. That setup will cost me around 830€ on a budget of 1000€.

So I want the most graphical bang for my 170€.

Good thing I didn't go with ATi after all.

With my limited experience Nocturno, it sounds like a nice rig. Especially since it's pretty similar to the one I have in mind, that you lot suggested.

I never really understood why people go out and buy the I7 975 extreme, considering you can over clock a I7 920 to insane levels. Are you going to buy an EVGA or BFG DX11 card?

That will be up the reviews, but I'm not crossing anything of my list, my personal pc history is actually in favour of ATI/AMD.

In the end I'll just buy the most powerful card for the least amount of money, from any trusted brand.
