an idea to make the grass about 100 times better for this map. make the grass a low displacement and just alpha the grass slightly to provide a bit of contrast. you dont need to change the height of the grass once its a displacement so its easy to build on.

it does. maybe not for that specfic grass texture. pick a grass texture with blend in the name and try again.

the path type things in the grass are created by using alpha

was a map i made and never really got played.... oh well

there are 3 different blend textures in the map which is why there is sand/grass dirt/grass and rock/grass (the vmts all source the same grass texture which is why the grass doenst have strange lines in it.)

Download link updated.
-3D Skybox removed, it was ugly.
-Displacements look better.
-Added more NODRAWs to reduce compile time

Just noticed a stupid mistake on my part. There are NODRAWs in both spawns. I'll re-compile tommorow.

new picts?

i downloaded the vmf you had on file front and a quick way to nodraw all your faces that arent seen it seems like they are all textured the default brick texture so hit ctrl+a hit replace textures and select the brick one and have it be replaced by nodraw. its easy enough.

happy mapping

I heard that you dont need to put nodraw on all the faces that arnt seen...because if the player cant see it, then the game will never render it (if the visleafs are working properly)
