Concept Artists Needed!

Tab

We are in need of Concept artists. The applicants are expected to review our requirements and be able to meet most if not all. Applicants will be assigned a task and a deadline, and are expected to keep the task in confidence.

What we are looking for in BOTH artists:
  • Comfortable around Photoshop
  • Capable of matching an established visual theme.
  • Capable of visualizing three dimensions in concept work and providing detailed isometric views to reflect that interpretation.
  • Dedicated individual who is able to contribute and conceptualize a very specific list of needs.

What we need in our Character Artist:
  • Able to draw reasonably proportionally correct humanoid characters.
  • Capable of producing original and fitting designs for class based characters.

What we need in our Weapons Artist:
  • Create concept for weapons that have a general "useable" appearance.
  • Be innovative and specific on designs regarding visuals associated with reloading, firing, idle, etc.

Keep in mind, if an individual is confident in their ability to provide artwork for Characters as well as Weapons then all the better. Any applications that neglect to provide example work will be overlooked. Although we aren't in the market, please inform us of any additional skills you may have.

Send Applications to info@adurostudios.com

Thanks!

Oh, but you didn't think that was all, did you?

Tab

Sadly, one of the key things that gets left off media releases, like, all the time is what the game sounds like. You can't really capture sound with a screendump, and mod teams are generally reluctant to bring out in-game videos until days before the release.

We at SourceForts strive to be different as always, so to give a little taster, here is a little recording of some of our new sounds in-game.

On a related note, we're being a little more active than normal, so make sure to check out the developer diaries for some hot behind-the-scenes action!

This post [now has -Stieffers] pictures.

v2.0.0 Media Release

Tab

After an awesome testing session last night, we decided that it was finally time to reveal our current working version of SourceForts v2.0.0. In case you haven't heard, SourceForts v2.0.0 is going to be a total conversion, which features completely new character models, weapons, sounds, textures, game modes, and everything else you can think of.

The great thing is that the underlying gameplay which makes the current version so great is also going to be featured in v2.0.0. Fort building and capture the flag, that is! SourceForts v2.0.0 will feature a plethora of classes, all of which present new and engaging ways of breaking into enemy forts, combating opponents, and of course, capturing the flag.

There will be seven classes to choose from, the light, heavy, and medium gunners, the demolitions expert, the sniper, the sword-wielding melee class, and who could forget... the engineer. All these classes are being tweaked to perfection to allow for some awesome battles. Below you will find some screenshots of our latest testing session. Enjoy!

Skin Chooser/Pack Ready!

Tab

After many long hours and dodging requests for download updates I've decided to just unload a MEGA skin pack for SF. It includes all of my old skins as well as some community favorites. But the best part is that it includes what was previously unreleased content! I originally made the map themed skins for V2, but we've made some changes and these won't be used anymore. So they're yours now!

After installation navigate to the installed directory:
C:\Program Files\Steam\steamapps\SourceMods\sourceforts\SkinC hooser
and view readme.

Big Props to Glorfindel on this one, without him NONE of this would've happened.

Note: This chooser is fully modular and expandable. However only the default skins that come with the pack (except for the "tron" skin) are legal for League.

ENJOY!

Mod of the year 06

Tab

I'm just going to jump straight at it and stick in this stupidly oversized image mirrored straight of moddbs' servers they're gonna kill me.

Thats right folks, you're votes have placed us 16th top mod of 2006 (out of FOUR THOUSAND), and we have been awarded the Action Mod Genre award! Myself and the rest of the development team can't thank you guys enough, as once again it is the community that have proven to us that, hell, this work we're doing back here really is worth it.

Oh and apparently we win a prize, so expect us to be flaunting our TBD around the block!

Vossey, Vossey, Vossey...

Tab

Huge thanks to Vossey for the award given to SourceForts in their last magazine! For those lucky enough to speak French, click the image to download the article (page 22). For the rest of us, here's a rough translation (thanks google):

Quote:

SourceForts puts you into the time of the great castles: construction and destruction are on the menu, but this time in a futuristic environment! It is the mod of the year 2006 for the Vossey's staff for its originality and gameplay !

Each game is divided into two different phases. The construction phase where you will have to carry out the construction of defences with blocks of various shape from plates to cubes, and the combat phase where you leave to attack the enemies camp and bring back their flag to your base while preventing the same from happening to you.

Community Endeavours

Tab

The Unknown Files team have just launched a new version with a subsection especially dedicated to SourceForts! Go grab an account and get uploading your maps, movies and SF related whatnot.

Meanwhile, as FictiousWills 'Steps to producing an in-game model' comes to an end, there's a great chance to grab a look at some new media as well as giving us your thoughts on the work done.

We'll be having another one of those diarys soon, so watch this space!

also, Khuskan released a short new track. Not that anyone cares about that. Ho-hum.
