Block skins for server
ok so i thought of a kinda cool idea, yes it takes some downloading, a little bit, but it shouldnt be that bad, you see what about those cool skins (im using black hole) but have them come with the server, let everyone, even the noobs, experience these cool textures. I think it would be cool, and currently i have it set up where the skins are on the server, and the downloads.txt of mani commands the client to download all the requried files, exect one problem, it wont over write the old ones. Now first of all i thought of that... we would have to be overwriting the files from the client, which i dont think is fair or possible, but i went on with the idea just to see if it would work. Is there any way to make this more fair, and accually work?

it would be cool if the mod came with multiple different styles and let the server choose which ones to use. that would eliminate the whole downloading portion of what you said
<change subject>also i remember seeing a news post about all the unused block textures a while back... there was a few cool ones. anyone know what im talking aboot?

ok so i tried it (sv_pure 1), and then i changed the map, everything was purple and black, i know enough to know that that means its missing a texture, so here is the error report from the console... geez what happened?

ok so then i took the pure off and restarted it, and i got everything back execpt the blocks which are still error mdl's so what the hell? god! now i cant get it back... ill have to redownload the sf package for linux, OH HEY remember im on LINUX!!! idk if that makes a difference but maybe.......

Anyway, are you sure that sv_pure makes you download the files?

did you set up your whitelist? Does your server have all the correct files in the /materials and the other folders? not just in a downloads folder for mani.

This interests me too. So sv_pure must be on. What else? I already got all block skins and stuff. Just wonder what else I should do. please help me. i'll google inthe mean time..

ummm 192 doesnt have sv_pure. ( afaik)
