Built to a certain extent on old fashioned castle principles, this showcases methods of building defences which are highly effective against engies /attackers in Pub games, and may also add something to the more experienced builders.
Also a major showcase is the defensive turret/ platform, which allows a single defender to cover the whole front of the base, without being sniped form the enemy base.
The key principle being overlapping fields of fire, which prevent sniper and rocket spamming from ruining a defenders day. Also, if an engie is being covered whilst he decons the wall, the "protector" will be unable to protect him effectively, as the defender can almost always shoot from cover without risk of being shot from the side, with the attacker always fully exposed.
Firstly, a front on view of the fort
Secondly a view from the overhanging turret, which overlooks the entire frontage of the base from one side of the map to the other, whilst protecting from enemy snipers etc. for this position, being a soldier is most effective! just make sure you load up on ammo, as you will most likely run out before you die!
As the main wall has been set back from the blocks on either side of metallurgy, the sniper post can also enfillade the front wall and stay protected. This is why it is always worth setting a wall back from the front edge of a gap if you have an overlooking position to the side!
and finally an overhead shot to show the cool shape of the base!
What do you guys think?!!
