this thread is rather old and as such some of the advice is perhaps a shade outdated. i think the current plan is to have a rotation axis system dealy, using the mouse/keyboard!

the second thing you mention is not something asked often (if at all, to my knowlege). i don't think it would get very far (especially if the teams you are thinking of are one of the other 'forts' offshoots, the reason they split in the first place was difference of opinion) - the team seems to be pretty happy with its current situation and merging with other mod teams would probably be a bit of a logistical headache. not to say that new talent isn't welcome of course, but an official team up would probably sour or get highly confused v. quickly.
