The Building Box (a 2.0 idea)
Well it's been rumored that in 2.0 players will capture control points and make them "building control zones." I guess the idea is alright, but in my opinion control points should simply move up the spawn of the team so that stalemates don't occur in the game (same reasons as in tf2 as to why there should be forward spawns). The building zones should be controlled by "the building box."
The building box is a box carried around by one of the building classes. The building box takes 10 seconds to set up and whenever it is set up a team is able to spawn blocks (1 per second) and freeze those blocks 5 units wide and 5 units behind the building box (so it can't be used to take over the enemy base and wherever you would place the box the build zone would be facing your base). The more blocks that are spawned and frozen the more people in the area make the building box gain more health and extend the range of the building box.
The building box makes it so that besides building the main defenses for the team, the builders can establish forward positions for their team and can seriously hold back an enemy team.
The building box itself is a box that has 200 health and is completely vulnerable and cannot be repaired in any way. The builder must be sure to cover up his building box in order to protect it.
Any comments, revisions, or additional ideas building off this?

Yeah, gtfo. They've barely even started coding the game and you're proposing a completely different gameplay style.

The fact that there isnt going to be a build ohase will change the gameplay completely. And would you rather have him propose his idea 3/4's of the way thorugh coding Haven, or have him do it now when it can be discussed and possibly used.

Sounds like a direction Haven should head in.

In all honesty, I would much prefer Haven to allow all classes the ability to build, maybe not spawn blocks, or just certain ones, but they should all be involved someway in building their defenses.
Otherwise I just see this mod turning into TF2WSITW, building is currently quite literally half of the game, and now that the build phase has been removed, a lot of players feel like you've just removed a half of it. Keeping blocks as an integral part of the mod with everyone involved is going to be a hell of a lot more enjoyable than turning this into what would seem like a rip-off of TF2 with a little gimmick added to the Engineer.

We are looking at making all classes involved in the building in some way.

Just to expand on Khuskans point, we're thinking of having most, if not all classes involved in building, however this will lilkely be in a more passive role, rather than actively building defences.
As with most things, it's all up in the air right now; but being discussed actively.
