Default Crash on Startup

I was able to install and play SoureeForts for the first time. After that, I closed it, and then later, decided to play again. The first time I played, I changed the video settings to 1680x1050, and maxed it all out, and set new controls.

When I tried to play it again, it crashed. I tried restarting steam, restarting my computer, verifying HL2: DM's cache, everything.

I deleted my SourceForts config.cfg and tried playing again and it worked. I then closed the game without changing ANY settings, and then tried to open it again. It crashed.

Do I have to delete my config.cfg EVERY time? Is there a fix for this?

Specs:

AMD Phenom II X4 620 (2.6 GHz Quad-Core)
Windows 7 Ultimate x64
4 GB RAM
Nvidia GTS 250 1 GB

UPDATE: I deleted my config.cfg and it's still crashing... weird.

All classic signs of needing a new PSU, I'm afraid.

That makes no sense at all, seeing as how every other game on my computer functions properly, including all of my Source engine games.

You didn't mention your PSU in your specs.

Your issue has all the signs of a PSU problem.

My god, it is not a PSU problem, come off of it.

My PC is only 4 months old.

Occasionally, Sourceforts works, and sometimes it doesn't.

ALL OF MY OTHER GAMES WORK. IT IS NOT MY HARDWARE.

There are error files left in the HL2 DM folder, so I think it has something to do with the game.
