The maps would have to be fairly large scale for this to happen, and they would have to be designed with performance in mind. With maps this scale, things such as vehicles could be introduced... not that I like vehicles in SourceForts...
It may be because of the Heineken(s), or maybe because of that thread, but whatever the hell it is, here is some insight into the mod. If you complain I will be angry. If you are entRo. Period. No explanation needed.

Anyway, I think this idea really depends on the map. The gamemode itself seems fine, but a bad map would ruin it, just as a bad map ruins CTF, so it's hard to comment.

I don't think so. It's much like the DoD capture-and-hold system, except that you can build forts. I think the time in which you have a force field up should be very short, maybe a minute, and there should be some way for the other team to bring forcefields down.

I think the biggest problem with this would be the max player count of 16.

CAPTAIN OBVIOUS TO THE RESCUE DUH DUH DUH

Anyways this gameplay sounds REALLY familiar. Empires mebe?

Plus 16 players is plenty. 8vs8 grabbing 4 bases is fine. It'll be mad crazy though .

It should work something like Empire's CTF game play.

EX: You (Blue team) stand around and wait for the capture bar to fill up. Then when the Red team tries to capture the base, there will be a "contesting bar". When the contesting bar fills up, every piece inside the base gets either:

A. Unfreezes (hahaa, that would be funny)
B. Every plate in the base changes color
C. Stays the same

The Red team may not contest the flag if there's still a Blue Team member on the base.

Another issue with this is block count. 50 blocks imo isn't enough for 4 bases. However this might bring some interesting ideas (paper weight bases?) Maybe you should have a seperate block count for each base.

I just imagine a giant hexegon each corner up for grabs but maybe not drop weapons but weapons are unselectable if you drop them that means other people can pick them up
