Default Quite possibly best practical fort. What do you think?

This fort uses ramps as a tunnel. So you're able to walk over the fort easily, while they have to crawl all the way along the wall to get in. Also, I put extentions of the ramp above the wall like a barbed wire fence, facing down. That way you can pretty much hide behind your ramps on any part of the wall and choose where you want to go.

this shows the area you crawl in from the exit inside.

This shows the ramps you are able to walk up. Notice how if you spaced out the ramps, you could easily shoot people crawling in their heads from point blank range, while you have cover.

Another pic of the exit on the right.

This is an outside view.

This is the entrance on the right from the outside. You don't really need to make another tunnel outside, but I finished early and slightly sloppy too.

The entrance to the ramps. You should probably double layer the first few ramps.

And the ramp underside from the entrance.

Sorry to say, but extending tunnels along a wall using ramps is a pretty standard technique. The overhang means you have to leave your fort to deal with engineers, although it protects against slam stepping and (sort of) rocket jumping.

It's not the greatest nor most original design ever, but I give kudos to you for both being spirited to try & step up to being a member of the community, and for sharing your ideas.

Hope to see you around

Uses too many blocks and gives too much cover to enemy engies.

Look again. I'm pretty sure that jump is too far.

Good to see new members contributing to the thread, pretty standard design and a few tweaks in it would make it a more effective base...but it's good.

This is a great idea - well thought of!

The paradox is that the enemy team will have access to some sniper holes if the ramps have holes in them. But to kill the enemy you will need to have holes in the ramps!

Very interesting, I'll try this the next time I'm building
