Default New wall design

This sort of falls half way between my old barricaide style wall and a wall Eero came up with. Presenting: Anti builder wall 2!
From the front it looks fairly unassuming, just a shorter wall, untill you realise...

The gap between the plates allows you to shoot at the feet of incoming Engineers/bastards while they are unable to return fire. The slanting of the plates also means that it is not possible to get a grenade between the plates (95% of the time) without crouching a couple of meters away from the wall. One issue I didn't test with this was how effective rocketeers are against it. From my tests using blocks as a dummy, I found you had to hit pretty high on the lower plank for it to effect the person using the wall as a bunker. (Did I mention that the wall can be used as a bunker? :P)
The angle of the top plate also serves to prevent people from SLAM stepping up the wall.

From the defenders side however, it is easy to just shoot through the gap at the feet of any engineers, on top of that, nearly any grenade thrown at the wall from the atackers side will get caught by the wall and roll outside.

The design of the wall is still not quite complete, I still need to do some fine tuning to get the angles and relative positions of the two blocks right.
Thoughs? Ideas? Complaints?
(Also, Credit again to Eero for the concept)

I think I saw VANN trying to do something like this earlier but he couldn't get it right.

I still havn't got a good method down for consistantly getting the blocks in to position though, it's just fiddling them around for a while as it is.

Yea... that looks suspiciously like the wall design I was fiddling with earlier today. Hmm.... :P

Ah well, I'm reminded of some story where two people discovered the same thing continents apart and some such. (that's a ramble btw).

if u use a small cube put is somewhere

and then place a large, long cube over it(so it's diagonal to the ground), you will have an easy 'framethingy' for that wall

Nice, first real solid looking new wall design I've seen in a while.

Give's up a little in that you can't build bunkers into your walls as easily, but that shouldn't be a monumental problem...

Very interesting wall design....I think it could be quite a viable alternative to the standard vertical panel setup.

One thing that could be a concern, while this seems more engineer-proof than the standard setup, if you WERE to lose a piece, it would be harder to replace as it covers more area and would expose more of your base (and your engineer) to enemy fire. Not to mention its one lost piece allos for a large area for the enemy to infiltrate (that is if you dont add more pieces in strategic locations). So you gain a little, and give a little up.

It was too big, so I had to replace it with something, and this one was mildly amusing.... No one here uses the userbars anymore anyways, so I have nothing to rebel against with that old sig
