Taipan - because if he didn't, someone would say "You haven't double-layered it, it will get engi raped in seconds" (minus the grammar/spelling)

Nice fort, looks like it could be made in about 40/50 blocks

I agree with u totally, its so stupid people say so. Double layering is such a waste of blocks. The thing about source forts, when people manages to unweild your blocks, your already beggining to loose. Its not gonna help with an extra block. It also takes too many blocks.
Much better to make the wall easy too defend and attack froom. Bunkers, sniper/rocketeer towers are good for this. good ramps to easely get out is also good. You probably already know that though

A very good reason for double layering it is that players will have to destroy another layer of blocks to make a hole.
Also it makes it take much longer for engys to make a hole, AND it makes holes easier to replace.

you're probably new to forums or you just made a mistake in reading the date of the last post (i've been known to do similar in the past :p), but it's generally pretty frowned upon to bump old threads unless you have something really quite interesting to say or you want to avoid making a new thread on the same topic of an old one


i was going to lock this thread to stop people going crazy, but turns out 011003 has done the courtesy of doing it for me :O
