If you have vista: first you have to go to “control panel” and then “Network and Internet” click on “View network status and tasks” click on your router

or if you don’t have vista type this into internet explorer or whatever you use http://192.168.1.254/ (I think it’s the same for everyone)

I'm not sure if that IP will work for everyone so use "run" and type in "CMD" and then "ok" then type in the cmd "ipconfig" your router IP should be the one that says "default gateway"

Then click on “advanced” on the side and click on “Continue to advanced” then log in then (default is admin and admin). Click on “devices” and click on your pc/laptop’s name and click on edit. Then find the “conection sharing” box at the bottom see if hl2 is in the drop down box and add it.
