Default Help Locating Ammo Crate Open & Close Sounds

Hi Source Forts community. : ) I am working on making a custom crate for SF, and was hoping to also create matching new sounds for the open and close movements of the Ammo Crate. I tried searching within the .FGD file hoping to locate something, and unfortunetaly had no luck.

Wondering if anyone knows how I can locate what sounds are being triggered with the events of the ammo_crate, or if someone knows how I can track them down myself. I have no problem doing to dirty work but cannot find any sound scripts or game sound scripts that have information on the Ammo Crate.

Any help would be insanely and greatly appreciated. Thank you.

looks like the sound is in source sounds.gcf//hl2/sound/items/ammocrate_open.wav
source sounds.gcf//hl2/sound/items/ammocrate_close.wav

so to replace them you would have to put yours as
MOD/sound/items/ammocrate_close.wav for the closing one and
MOD/sound/items/ammocrate_open.wav for the opening one

hope that helps.

Thank you so very much Arenaceous. : ) I will try to replace them and see how it goes, most likely it will work. Just wondering though, was there a special way u located them, or did you just guess with great results? ;D

i had a educated guess. i figured they would be in source sounds (for obvious reasons) then hl2/sound because its not a reslist. and guessed it might be in items. (theres a search function in crafty but i couldnt get it working for some reason you might have better luck)

Success! Just wanted to say thanks Arena for the assistance. It works perfect, just have to fix up the custom sounds a bit and export them in proper format. Also need to finalize the prop model and then work on any improvements I can find.

Thanks again man. Really appreciate the help you have provided.
