Default Game Error: Internal driver error in Direct3DDevice9:: present()

Can anyone tell me the cause of this?

I looked up Steam Support and followed ALL of the instructions, but nothing has stopped it.

I run all my games on lowest settings, with a gfx card of 6200 with 256 RAM, as well as a gig of comp RAM. Processor is definately adequate but I still get the errors on ALL my steam games.

Anyone know a solution or at least the cause of it?

BTW, here is the link to the steam support result:http://support.steampowered.com/cgi-...i=&p_topview=1

Excuse the typos please.

Should I just get the latest ones and then install those? Because if so, then BOTH of those drivers are corrupted, which makes no sense.
Could it be sound card drivers?

Source games were working before right? You posted questions about converting demos to video so I assume you were able to play recently. What did you do / change just before this started happening?

And yes, you should download and install the latest drivers for the 6600. The card should support DX9, but forcing DX8 as suggested above might help. Also, you may need to remove / reinstall SDK Base or steam.

Reinstall SDK base?
Alright.
Well, the only things I really changed since then were adding custom skins (ones used a lot).
But with my comp, anything in the land of wtFUCKery and game errors goes.

I'd definitely recommend trying to restore the default skins (at least the last few that you have modified) to see if that doesn't fix things -- I wouldn't think so, if your problem is with all Source games (in which case SDK Base reinstall might not be a tremendous help). You can also try to rename your SourceForts config.cfg and re-extract the default from the install archive. If you have tweaked your D3D settings in the NVIDIA control panel (use NVIDIA drivers and not OEM, BTW), you might try reverting those settings to default.

The Geforce 6200 is one of the worst graphics cards known to man. Its tendency too overheat causes the ram in your graphics card to become corrupt and stuffs up your GPU. This doesn't seem the case however. I'm just wondering, do you ever get Blue screens? (This nay have nothing to do with this situation what so ever). If not, try installing newer drivers. Or try www.tweakzone.com.
