Well, I know how to make demos, but I have no idea how to view them, or where the files are even located.

But the biggest thing I need to know is if it's possible to convert demos to video files, and if so, how. If not, then I guess I need to buy FRAPS.

You play the demo and then record the demo with fraps.

I just tried that, and it says:
"playdemo <demoname>: plays a demo file"
But when I try to do that with one of my demos, it says something like:
"couldn't open <crete> for .dem reading" or something like that.

If you recorded the demo with a weird name like: D][EMOZ/Z. Most likely won't work.

your demo file is probably fucked then.

type "playdemo " and it should give you a list.
