scat in half life 2 deathmatch you don't have the classes that you have in sourceforts. I'm sure if it was a good enough tdm map, people would play it in sf.

60% of the classes would be rendered redundant. Unless there was sniper spots, with class specific spawn points. The sniper class would be useless, the Rocketeer's limited ammo and the ability to rocket jump to no where, as there would be no bases, another redundant class. The scout's speed would be extremely outbalanced as there is nothing to get to quickly, apart from death. Another redundant class, Combat Scouts are easy to kill, just annoying. So really it comes down to Engineer with out building purposes, and Soldiers.

Basically the only differences is a AR2 vs Shotgun, and 20 HP, and 5 AP.

Decent Snipers shoot out the flag d, unnoticed. Of course there needs to be blocks to do that.

Rocketeers can still be used to get over walls and flag ds, like the slam rocket jump on Skywalk.

Scouts are used a lot when a team's wall and flag d is down, touch whoring etc. Notice how they are all only useful when bases come into it.

Not as much as they used to be used, but I think they still are in play slightly.

What kaidus said. Rocketeers have been made redundant seeing as blocks are so easy to destroy now.
