Win 3.1 was about when I started playing games, Civ II and what I think must've been a Commander Keen game, but I'm not too sure. Descent II was a really big time suck for me, I was aces at that game. Keyboard only. All that was b4 I was 9, then after came SC, Total Annihilation, and Roller Coaster Tycoon. It wasn't until high school that I discovered any of Valve's stuff, and even then it was just SF that I played most of the time. Then TF2 came out and now L4D. Throw in some other minor ones in there to flesh out the picture but those are the defining games of my life. Perhaps my RTS background is why I never liked pure-twitch games like CSS or the Doom line...
To Jake's point, I share his fear that I have grown up on digital culture to a ridiculous extent.
