In any case, I fail to see how a map that is a large open canyon with two bases would in any way be a good map for a game that is built on the idea that players should make their own base. What would you do, just get rid of the bases that are already there so people could make their own? Then all you'd have is a big open canyon; hardly a great SF map.

My opinion is that Halo was the original game that started the huge xbox live scene. How you can't call that something is beyond me. Porting it to PC was a big mistake, since it was the type of game which was made for consoles. Not the other way around.
Also the deal about buildings and such already being in maps, last I checked that's what will be around in 2.0.0. Building bases along narrow alley ways, and next to houses. That type of thing. So really your point doesn't make much sense, especially if this map is for 2.0.0. Even a long Canyon with a few buildings added could actually play well, if the hilly areas are created properly. Although that's just my opinion.
Also on a side note, I'd like to know if you've even played Halo. Since people that pretend to know what they're talking about, and instead give some pseudo load of bollocks really annoy me.
Only fault for me is that I didn't like it in the Halo series, then again it could play extremely well in SF if done properly.
