Find Out Which Operating System Your Computer Is Using

There are many versions of the Microsoft Windows operating system. You may be using Windows 98, Windows Me, Windows XP, or another version. To make sure you know which version is on your computer:

1.

Click Start, and then click Run.

2.

In the box, type winver, and then click OK.

The window that appears will show you which version of Windows your computer is using.

Note: These instructions do not apply to Apple Macintosh computers. To find security information for Apple computers, visit the Apple security site.
