Vision

Vision
The vision of the Center for Clinical and Translational Science (CCTS) is to transform the institutional environment by building productive and efficient interdisciplinary research teams through educational ingenuity, regulatory reorganization, resource coordination, and methodological innovation.  Its mission is to develop a transformative infrastructure that spans the spectrum from preclinical research to bench-to-bedside translation to community implementation.  Thus, new molecular insights drive change in healthcare and challenges in human health generate novel inquiry at the molecular level – bench to bedside and communities and back to bench.

The working “units” of the CCTS support this overall mission in a highly integrative network of relationships.  Success in creating such an environment is dependent upon success in: 1) recruiting and retaining investigators through easy ACCESS to the Center; 2) providing a “Research Commons,” an intellectual, virtual, and physical environment to promote clinical and translational research; 3) developing clinical and translational researchers; and 4) stimulating the development of clinical and translational research concepts.  For a visual depiction of the working units of the CCTS, click here.
