Strengths: Very good value for the price. Has nearly all the single and team player Half Life content prior to Half Life 2. The best part is that you DON'T HAVE TO INSTALL STEAM TO PLAY THE SINGLE PLAYER GAMES!
Weakness: Does not include the single player game Counterstrike: Condition Zero.
The notorious hassles with Valve's Steam made me give up on Half Life 2, and purchase this collection instead. If you're like me, and just never got around to playing Half Life, this is an excellent collection and allows you to avoid Steam altogether. This is my all time favorite gaming pack. Can be played from Three different points of view as Gordon, a Marine, or a security officer. The puzzles are challenging but not to hard. The online play is legendary.

Activision Half Life Platinum 2
Strengths: Strong atmosphere, VERY smart AI, Great sense of relism.
Weakness: Graphics are pretty creaky compared to newer games.
