Hi All!

I'm wondering if someone might be able to provide any help on setting up a dedicated sourceforts server on Linux.

I've followed:
SourceForts - A Half-Life 2 Modification
http://www.sourcefortsmod.com/boards...edi-13743.html

as well as various other tutorials. I'm at the stage where I can create and connect to a HL2MP server, but sourceforts is still giving me troubles. :(

I run the command:

and I get the following (shortened) terminal output:

Code:

So umm... yea this community seems to be composed of two types of people: people who love the idea of this mod and are eager to see it develop into a polished product; and people who enjoy playing this mod(or did at one point), but who have no imagination and therefore couldn't recognize gold even if they saw it. Because of this latter group, posting ideas on the public forums to be manipulated by their caustic remarks is a waste of effort.

So, I posted this thread to hopefully get an idea of anyone still active in this community who would be good to bounce ideas off of. If you are this type of person, email me some of your ideas at zcmrfrodo@yahoo.com, and we can take it there instead of this trenchant environment.

Hey SF peeps,

Hey SF peeps,

Looks like im going to be playing SF again. So, is SF dead? or do i have a wrong version of SF? I have 1.9.4, but isnt 1.9.4.1 out? The "SF updater" is really confusing and seems to not be working.... I downloaded Desura's version of SF, which was 1.9.0, then installed the updater, but my homescreen says "1.9.4" in the corner. Can anyone help?

Hi, I used to play SourceForts a lot. When the game died with no servers showing at all, I stopped playing it. Since then, I am using a new computer.

Windows 7 Home Prem || Intel Core i5 x4 || Radeon HD5770

So, I've installed SourceForts.. I load up my game, the weird creepy guy on the Valve logo comes and goes (so he should, he's got a valve in his eye, he should get treatment for that). After this logo has gone, the game then closes, and this error pops up.

I own HL2, HL2DM, EP1, EP2, TF2, CSS, Portal and many other titles. I also have Source SDK installed, and all of the base engines installed.

Any help is appreciated, as I used to love this game and would like to get back into it.
