The Institute of Egyptian Art & Archaeology, founded in 1984, is a component of the Department of Art of The University of Memphis, in Memphis, Tennessee (USA), and is a Tennessee Center of Excellence. It is dedicated to the study of the art and culture of ancient Egypt through teaching, research, exhibition, and community education.
As part of its research and teaching objectives, the Institute of Egyptian Art & Archaeology, (hereafter IEAA), is engaged with various field projects in Egypt. Currently, the IEAA conducts an epigraphic survey in the Great Hypostyle Hall of Karnak Temple in Luxor, Egypt, sponsors an excavation in the Valley of the Kings at the tomb of Pharaoh Amenmesse, and partners with the Italian Archaeological Mission at the tomb of Harwa at Thebes.

In 1965, the Oklahoma Wheat Resources Act established the Oklahoma Wheat Commission, and with it a framework for Oklahoma wheat producers to invest in the promotion of their product, Hard Red Winter wheat. The Oklahoma Wheat Commission is entirely producer-controlled. Oklahoma wheat producers elect their fellow producers to serve as commissioners in district elections. Each district has an opportunity to elect a commissioner every 5 years. Once selected, commissioners are appointed by the Governor of Oklahoma to serve a 5-year term. Five Oklahoma wheat producers make up the board of commissioners.

The 2011 Virginia earthquake occurred on August 23, 2011, at 1:51 pm EDT (17:51 UTC) in the Piedmont region of the U.S. state of Virginia. The epicenter, in Louisa County, was 38 miles (61 km) northwest of Richmond and 5 miles (8.0 km) south-southwest of the town of Mineral. The earthquake, along with a magnitude-5.8 1944 quake on the New York-Ontario border, is the largest to have occurred in the U.S. east of the Rocky Mountains since an 1897 quake centered in Giles County in western Virginia[5][6] whose magnitude has been estimated as 5.8 or 5.9. The damage was estimated by one risk-modeling firm at $200 million to $300 million, of which about $100 million was insured

The state veterans program administered by the Oklahoma Department of Veterans Affairs, under the direction of the War Veterans Commission as the controlling board, provides a complete service to the State's veterans. This service includes nursing and domiciliary care, financial assistance in emergencies, and field service counseling in the filing of claims for U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs and state benefits.
Oklahoma is one of the top two states in the nation with seven veterans centers providing intermediate to skilled nursing care and domiciliary care for its wartime veterans. These centers are located in Ardmore, Claremore, Clinton, Lawton, Norman, Sulphur, and Talihina.
