Description: From the website: "The Alaska Division of Oil \& Gas is responsible for the leasing of state lands for oil, gas, and geothermal exploration. We do this by implementing innovative new programs to encourage exploration on state and private lands, and by working with other agencies, local communities, and industry to fulfill the Alaska Constitution's mandate to "encourage the settlement of its land and the development of its resources by making them available for maximum use consistent with the public interest.""
