NPL League

Az and Ravil have been working on setting up a league for the last 2 weeks.
The NPL, wich stands for No-Pro_league, is a league for new players.
A good way to get new clans up ( and even servers), and to keep some multi-mods/games community playing SourceForts.
The format is standard 5v5.
We have already obtained results during the last 2 weeks: new servers opened (besides Nox' servers ofc),
several new clans were formed : APR|, ::MG::, etc...
This league is guaranteed to go as it stands now, but we'd like to invite more players to form a team and join up.
If you are interested, leave a response in this thread and join the steamgroup @ http://steamcommunity.com/groups/SFNPL
The Winning team will get a server set up by Az.

A Tragic Accident!

As you all know, Monty has left a rather conspicuous comment on Twitter about a certain Dev Diary. I regret to inform that it will have to be held until next week, on the 6th September 2009.
May we please give a minute of silence to our fallen comrade, Monty. And also some respect for our friend, Stieffers. A drunken Monty has recently crashed his bicycle into stieffers house, promptly setting off an unstoppable blaze.
Unfortunately Monty will be out for a week, unable to create his masterful dev diary. Stieffers is in charge of the investigation, but we aren't expecting any suspects soon since he did it.

Today marks the close of SourceForts first 1v1 tournament. 28 members of the community joined up to show that SF still has it's competitive spark, but now only one stands victorious. Congratulations to nait0r who beat entRo, Syphos, waters and kanroook on his way to the final in which he saw off kaidus, myself, in a close 33-31 match.

With engineers done and dusted, we're now looking forward to a 2v2 competition (possibly with forts and flags?), the rules of which are still to be determined. A big thanks to kanroook for organising these competitions, it just goes to show that even northerners can be useful.

I'd like to formally welcome Lewis "Powerofthecowboy" Sanderson to the development team as our latest concept artist. Hopefully we'll post up some of his official work shortly, however for now I'll let his application task do the talking. His brief was simply to create a moderately heavy robot, the design was left completely up to him and we told him to go crazy.
He also sent us this as part of his original application:
