Mission statement

Richmond Academy of MedicineThe Center for Clinical and Translational Research is Virginia Commonwealth University’s academic home for clinical and translational research and provides the necessary longitudinal and cross-disciplinary networking, culture and unifying infrastructure essential for the T1 to T4 progression, with feedback in both directions at every phase.

Researchers from the life, physical, computer and social sciences, as well as engineering and economics across the university are supported by the CCTR in multidisciplinary research. At the same time, we build and nurture mutually beneficial partnerships with community practitioners, community organizations and patients themselves to enhance the adoption of evidence-based best practices in general clinical practice and thus deliver improved medical care to the region.
