About the ITM
The University of Chicago Institute for Translational Medicine (ITM) is the administrative unit for our CTSA program. It operates across divisional, departmental, and professional school lines to generate new research methods, technologies, and molecular target discovery. The ITM complements and enhances existing UC Institutes (such as the Institute for Genomics and System Biology, Institute for Biophysical Dynamics, and others) and Centers (such as the University of Chicago Cancer Research Center, Center for Interdisciplinary Health Disparities Research, Center for Health and the Social Sciences, Diabetes Research and Training Center, MacLean Center for Clinical Medical Ethics, and others). Furthermore, the ITM incorporates the multiple well-regarded capabilities of our Clinical Resource Center, supports Community aspects of our clinical and translational research efforts in concert with the Urban Health Initiative, and provides the primary focus for CTSA interaction with our affiliated institutions – Argonne National Laboratory (ANL) and the Pritzker Institute of Biomedical Science and Engineering at the Illinois Institute of Technology (IIT). The ITM is our catalytic site for training the next generation of translational scientists.

Membership in Society for Clinical and Translational Science (SCTS)--
The CTSA/Institute for Translational Medicine (ITM) is pleased to announce that we have purchased a University-wide membership to the Society for Clinical and Translational Science (SCTS). As a result, you can have free membership in the SCTS by adding your name to the society membership list. Membership in the SCTS will keep you informed about the latest in clinical and translational research and promote opportunities to network with cutting edge scientists in this field. In order to do join please see the SCTS website for membership information.
Please note that you are joining as an “Institutional Member” and should not be charged any membership dues (application is at the bottom of the webpage). The ITM Administration will also be happy to add your name to the University of Chicago membership list if you prefer although you will have to activate your membership.
