Nominations are open for the Iowa Volunteer Hall of Fame. Each year the Iowa Commission on Volunteer Service invites nominations for this prestigious state-level honor. Nominations must be postmarked by November 9.

Are you affiliated with a nonprofit that has lost its tax-exempt status? Requirements and fees that the IRS temporarily reduced to assist nonprofits in regaining tax exempt status will come to an end on December 31, 2012. The Iowa Nonprofit Employee Benefits Survey 2012 and questions with a breakdown of responses has been released. The Employee Benefits Committe of the Governor's Nonprofit Project conducted the survey this summer.
Iowa ranks second in the country in volunteerism with 37.9 percent of Iowans devoting time to help others. The Iowa Commission on Volunteer Service cited the 2010 ranking upon release of a report by the Corporation for National and Community Service. More…
