Today (Feb 8, 2008) is the 2 year anniversary of launching the production Archive-It service!
Archive-It partners have preserved approx 27 terabytes of born digital web content, over 283 million URLs and 474 public collections.
A few highlights from the first 2 years and projects in the works for years 3+:
-We have grown to over 50 partners and counting
-Diversifying our partner base with libraries, archives, non-government non profits, federal institutions, as well as cultural institutions and museums
-Increasing our global partner base with partners from Australia, Singapore, South America and Europe
-Developing multi-lingual user interfaces with our global partners
-Expanding our impact with a K-12 pilot program, collaborating with high schools across the country
-Currently developing the 3.0 version of the web app to include even more sophisticated features, functionality and user interface
-Working on more advanced access and preservation tools to meet the needs of our partners
-Hosted a successful partner meeting last year with plans to make this event a regular happening
