The copyrights on all of the others were renewed.

Yeah, they renewed each individual episode (60+ in total) except this one. It took a few hours of cross checking every individual episode's title with US copyright records to find that this was the only one that wasn't renewed. It was well worth it, because this is one of the finest episodes of the show's entire run. I guess some administrator's mistake is our gain.

66 of the 67 episodes of Thriller had their copyrights renewed. I have compared the USCO's renewal list with the show's episode guide on IMDB. As far as I can ascertain the episode that was not renewed is 2x12 "The Return of Andrew Bentley" Air Date - 11 Dec 1961.
