OCR (optical character recognition) is software that will attempt to convert scanned pages into text format. If your pdf is searchable then it already has text and no OCR would be necessary. I'd suggest uploading the pdf, let the system do its work and see if the derived ePub is acceptable. If not you can always add your file to the item.
