We upload a form to archive.org which is prepared by a Ruby script. Then archive.org creates a new item and returns an FTP URL to us. (That is the bit that isn't happening, so none of the following happens either.) When the URL is received by our system, all the files in the relevant directory are automatically uploaded to the URL. Once everything is derived, we finish off the archive page by hand.
EDITED TO ADD: The history on our items shows:
from_url=>rsync://items-uploads.archive.org/tmp/ftp/[ouremailaddress] if that helps at all.
I have looked at all the Ruby scripts in question, and though I don't understand most of it, nothing seems to have changed in them for many months, and nothing at all has changed on our servers in the past couple of weeks, so we don't think the problem is at our end.
