Re: Andy Griffith Episodes Question |
Thank you for your response. I'm wondering the best way to research. From what I am aware of I can search copyright office online records from 1978 till now. The older ones are only found either but having copyright office search or through an online site that I came across recently. I'm trying to verify copyright for several of the Andy Griffith episodes. I saw many of them listed on this PD archive but the copyright online records show them with a code by them of V ###### and a date. So not sure how to verify it myself. If a show is in public domain, then that means anyone can use it or even sell it so if this statement is true, then if someone decides to sell a PD show, that doesn't mean that they now own it, right? I ask because I see others have made new dvd's out of PD material. I hope others will chime in and I can learn from the forums more about copyright. There are so many wonderful shows on this website. I love the older shows. Many family shows and movies on this website!
