I remember playing Monkees records on a portable 45 rpm record player, and playing my drums along with "Last Train to Clarksville" after 7th grade band practice.

RIP, Davy.

I really liked the last episode of the their first season, entitled, "Monkees On Tours." They guys in my band and their girlfriends were all over at my house tonight for a dinner party and after dinner, the guys in the band all jammed on acoustic guitars in the livingroom. Of course we played several Monkees songs in tribute. The Monkees had a lot of great songs.

Davy Jones was too young to die, that's for sure.
