files will be ordered alphanumerically in the player. names can be assigned to each file in the "Edit item" page in the Files section in title fields next to the file names.

metadata can also be edited on the "Edit item" page.

I'm trying to figure out a similar thing. Would like to take 14 items I uploaded separately and put them into one playlist. Have looked through all FAQs and am not able to figure this out. I tried to change info in the "edit item" area, making them tracks of the same album but this didn't work. How do I identify separate audio files as belonging to the same 'item' so that they show up on one playlist?

all the files would need to be in the same item. your example only has one audio file.

If I reload all these files, is there an option upon upload to make them all part of the same item? I'm not clear on the difference between an item and a file and when in the process I'm specifying this. Thank you for your help Jeff.

you can add them to an existing item with this clickpath from the item page:
Edit item > change the files > Share button > select the files > click Open > when they are done uploading click > Update item.

then from the item page:
Edit item > change the information > item manager > click the derive button.

You can select multiple files to upload when you initially create the item. Use your shift or command key to select all the files together that you want to upload.
