Re: Super Bowl Predictions |
Best scoring defense (SF) vs best overall defense (HOU).
When the Ravens won it all a decade ago, they were the best defense, and only required a pedestrian offense to get the job done. Tampa was pretty much the same way when they got there.

yes however, they are both teams that are just suddenly playing well this year. both teams were relatively poor last season. the 49ers haven't made the playoffs in 10 years, and alex smith has never played a playoff game in his life nor has he ever played under real pressure. the 49ers have pretty much sucked for his entire career. the postseason is a whole different game than the regular season, as you know. i don't completely count out the niners though, because they really have been phenomenal this year. only the packers are playing better so far. and harbaugh has lit a spark with these guys, and could be the one to finally bring them some real success for the first time in awhile.
the texans though, i don't see them going anywhere. they're the only team that has yet to be in a playoff game. they are playing well now, but i think they will crumble in the playoffs. we shall see.

Re: Super Bowl Predictions |
Hard to say. Every AFC team has sucked in one way or another so far this year.
The Ravens would be my next pick, but they have lost 3 games to teams who are a combined 11-16.
Houston does have a bye this week, and Andre Johnson is very close to returning. Give Leinart a chance. He's got an excellent manager of QB's in Gary Kubiak. Derrick Mason is also there to help him out.

Re: Super Bowl Predictions |
Yeah, the AFC doesn't have any great teams this year. In both leagues, there are more good teams than there were last year, but no dominating teams other than the Packers. I think the Steelers have a better shot than the Ravens as of now, but we'll see.
As for Leinart, the guy has been a huge disappointment since his first year in '06. He was good in college, but has yet to prove himself in the pros, and he's had more than enough time. I would be shocked if he did well. The Texans might still squeak into the playoffs, but they have no chance at the SB anymore.

Re: Super Bowl Predictions |
Haha, that's hilarious. "Gerry Sandusky watched fans and colleagues steer clear of him before Sunday night's game in Pittsburgh."
At least he got 800 new twitter followers!
I like the real Sandusky's defense strategy. Claiming he showered, horsed around with boys, and touched them (not in a sexual manner though), but is not a pedophile. Let's see how that works out when McQueary testifies.
