the classic web has been shut down. The Wayback Machine is now at http://waybackmachine.org/

it would be helpful to know what you were able to do with the classic web that you can't do with the current version.

the old version of the archive - when researching a large site viewing
the data (stored pages) was much more time efficient.
with the old archive all the info was on one page ie how many copies
were there, and a * showed when the site of research was updated
(different)
with the new version - its all by month with no indicator (none i know
of anyway) of when the site of research changed
thats what i liked most about the 2 billion collection! it was all for
the year 2007, so any web research needed for that year
was simple and very easy to find
