Re: Streaming song order |
The shuffling problems appear to be spreading. I just re-spot-checked a bunch of my Items. Many of them were looking just fine when I checked them an hour ago. 40 minutes ago I said at least
one of my tapes has the track-shuffling problem right now. Now I'm seeing several more of my tapes starting to get tracks shuffled in the Flash Player. And
one of my tapes is shuffling images (band logo changed in upper left corner) AND shuffling audio tracks in the Flash Player.
The Archive moved some servers last week. I noticed then that one of my collections in the LMA was missing the band's logo image for awhile (master index problem). Since then, their crawler has picked it up and patched the master index. Everything is back. The Archive may still be moving more servers around, perhaps replacing some, and/or updating others.
A couple of hours ago, numerous posters on The Forums were claiming, "Item not available." My take is, parts of (hopefully not all of) The Archive's Master Index just went belly-up (became corrupted). If so, their crawler will have to rebuild it.
Right now there is
track-shuffle trouble with this GD show. I find this to be very unusual. I never considered it being related to the index, or related to images being shuffled.
Files here get sorted in alphanumeric order. Capital letters sort above non-caps. Numbers sort above letters. I've never seen any sorting trouble here. Corruption in the master index happens maybe a few times a year. Usually it's just a bunch of Items that can't be found by searching for them. Entering the Identifier's URL correctly gets you to your Item.

Re: Streaming song order |
If you click the VBR M3U link on the left the songs will play in the correct order through the player of your choice. The files will download in the correct order as well.
I stopped using the IA player to stream a long time ago due to the problem of it stopping at the end of each track. I'm sure mostly everybody else who has run into the problem has done so as well.
