Fascinating. Too bad Disney and friends increased the time before works enter the Public Domain (Sonny Bono Act, aka Mickey Mouse Protection Act, else the movie studios would have a lot more material to work with. Highlights the reason why PD is so important, to allow culture to remake itself.
