i use windows xp w/ 2 browsers: google chrome and ie8
both the embedded player and m3u work fine on chrome, while ie8 doesnt show the embedded player, but m3u functions normally
firefox used to cause me some problems, so i uninstalled it years ago

CHROME is a piece of SHIT. I installed that damned thing on my computer and wound up with a layout that looks like nothing traditional. Nothing but the same kind of page, that you see when installing/updating Firefox. Never did relaunch and open up in the regular Google.com home page.
The settings at the top of the page are gone too. No way to set my own preferences either. They can stick CHROME where the sun don't shine. I wouldn't reccommend such a piece of crap to anybody...

I have been somewhat hesitant to try another browser, but due the current issue with the player, and your kind suggestion, I have finally done it.
As you say, the player works fine with chrome. And I was able to finally use the new audio tag and voila - no more stopping after each track. And I notice as I type this that there is a spell check function!
