can you send a bit more detail to info@archive.org?

- are you uploading with the ftp or the http uploader?
- what error message are you getting?
- what size are the files and what browser are you using?

thanks.

Jeff, 99% of the errors I'm seeing are "no metadata" errors or "item not found" errors. Resubmitting or refreshing a few times usually does the trick.

Thanks...can you explain a bit more what that means? Is the solution I posted the correct one? Is there anything else we should do? Are both of those errors related to locator problems? What other kinds of issues do locator problems cause, and what kinds should we report or not report?

this is an ops issue. there is nothing for users to do any differently other than be patient.

the two messages typically seen when the locator fails to find the data are:

"The specified item was not found "live" in the US cluster or does not have metadata."

or

"The item you are trying to edit does not have metadata or the metadata is not parseable. It will need to be rebuilt or fixed first."

sorry for the inconveniences.
