Re: Why Did My Upload Go Into the Wrong Collection? |
You were correct to choose Community Video. But, I do not see that you uploaded a video file to your item. To keep it simple it would be good to start the process again using a new, unique title/identifier. Upload the video file to Community Video and let the item go through the derive process so that it will appear and play on archive.org. Once it is up you can request it be moved to another collection if you think that is appropriate.
Hope this helps

Re: Why Did My Upload Go Into the Wrong Collection? |
Thanks, Mr. Kaplan.
So any videos I upload sort of "start out" in Community Video? If that's the case, I can definitely live with that. Would it then be reviewed by Archive staff and moved into the right collection when and as they have the time and inclination to do so? That would make sense.
Sorry about the problem, but I'm a noob. I pick things up pretty fast, though.
I think I can re-upload the file into the existing title and identifier. If that doesn't work, then I'll try a new one.
Thanks again!

Re: Why Did My Upload Go Into the Wrong Collection? |
it can remain in Community Video. The are many movies and videos there that are uploaded by users.
Try to choose a good title and description as well as other metadata such as creator, year, etc. The more complete and accurate it is the better it for search results.
