Re: downloads not working (not just pdfs) |
That won't work. To do the right-click-download method, you have to go into the HTTP list of files.

Re: downloads not working (not just pdfs) |
Ok, but when I click on HTTP I don't see any links with .mobi or .epub file extensions. (I see only .pdf, .txt, .zip and a few I've never heard of (.gz, .djuv).)
The .epub and Kindle/.mobi versions appear under "View this book" so I assume they must be available in IA!?!?

Re: downloads not working (not just pdfs) |
As a workaround, you can click "All Files: HTTP" in the "View the Book" area. This takes you to a page with all the formats. You can click on the format you want and it will download.

Re: downloads not working (not just pdfs) |
As I stated above, clicking on HTTP does *not* show all formats. When I click into HTTP I don't see any links with .mobi or .epub file extensions. I see only .pdf, .txt, .zip and a few I've never heard of (.gz, .djuv).

Re: downloads not working (not just pdfs) |
Right... and that brings me back to my original point:
The "view the book" section of all of the books I've looked at clearly shows that there is a epub and a kindle version available (for instance, look at Dostoyevsky's "House of the Dead"). But I cannot download them. If I right click on the file and try to "Save As" it only sees it as 1 byte HTML file. If I go into HTTP, there is no .epub or .mobi file.

Re: downloads not working (not just pdfs) |
I am using Firefox and cannot receive downloads. It is as though there is no file present.

Re: downloads not working (not just pdfs) |
I'm Using IE8. I Can Not Download PDFs (Except For Google) Or View Texts Of Anykind With The Internet Archive Reader.
I’d like to receive email when fixed.
THANKS

Re: downloads not working (not just pdfs) |
I am sure everybody is pleased, thanks.
Is there a reason for a marked drop in uploads to the IA text archive the last 12 hours?
My text RSS feed shows a big reduction.
I am just advising in case your fix made something else go wrong.
