#. How can I request books to be scanned?
Internet Archive works with 135 libraries worldwide (as of 2009). Each library decides which books in its collection it will scan. Typically the libraries are fronting the cost of the scanning - either doing it themselves, or paying Internet Archive to come in and do it. Thus, requests for books are made to the library directly. There are two ways to do it:
The easy way:
1. The Boston Public Library has an automated "scan-on-demand" system. See this link for more information.
The hard way:
2. If the book is not in the BPL, find which library has the book (using WorldCat.org), and is also one of the 135 libraries that partner with Internet Archive, and also a library still making new scans, and make a request with that library (this section needs more how-to).
